What I Offer
I provide a reflective, professionally held space where meaningful psychological change can occur. Using a psychodynamic approach, we explore the emotional and relational patterns that shape how you experience yourself, others, and the challenges in your life.
Many people come to counselling feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or trapped in patterns that no longer serve them. Together, we look closely at these patterns, not to judge or fix them, but to understand them. Over time, this awareness opens up the possibility of new ways of thinking, feeling, and responding with greater choice, confidence, and self-compassion.
I bring a calm, grounded presence and I am comfortable working with complexity, pressure, and uncertainty. Sessions are responsive rather than rigid, unfolding in ways that deepen insight and build confidence. Many clients notice that, as the work progresses, they can tolerate difficult emotions more easily, think clearly under pressure, and relate to themselves and others with greater ease.
The therapeutic relationship itself is central. How we connect in sessions often reflects how you relate to yourself and others outside of therapy. Patterns in thinking, feeling, and behaviour can emerge here. Long-standing coping strategies, repeated behaviours, and unconscious expectations are explored, and gently bringing them into awareness can be a catalyst for lasting, authentic change.
This space is professional, safe, and boundaried. I follow the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and confidentiality is absolute. What you share is held with care, creating a place where difficult thoughts and feelings can be explored openly and without judgement.
The process can be challenging, but it is also energising. Many clients describe it as liberating, offering a fresh perspective, deeper self-understanding, and a stronger sense of agency in how they meet their lives, relationships, and personal goals. Counselling is not a quick fix, but it is a hopeful process that can help you move forward with clarity, resilience, and purpose.
