Privacy statement
I take your privacy seriously and am committed to protecting your personal information. This statement explains how I collect, use, and store your data in line with UK data protection laws (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What I collect
When you get in touch by email, phone, or through my website, I may collect your name, contact details, and any information you choose to share. If we decide to work together, I’ll also keep brief, factual notes about our sessions as part of my professional record-keeping.
How I use your information
Your information is used only for professional purposes: to arrange sessions, manage communication, and support our therapeutic work. I will never share your details with anyone else without your consent, unless required by law or where there is a serious concern about your safety or the safety of others.
How I store your information
All personal information and session notes are stored securely and kept only for as long as necessary under professional and legal guidelines. Electronic data is password-protected; any paper records are kept in a locked cabinet and destroyed safely when no longer required.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is at the heart of my work. What you share in counselling stays between us, subject to the law and the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I also work under regular professional supervision, where client material may be discussed anonymously to ensure safe and effective practice.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your personal data at any time. If you have any questions or concerns about how your information is handled, please contact me directly.
